I am Wendy Zondo. A first year student at University of KwaZulu Natal who is currently studying Bachelor of Social Science is very grateful and proud to receive this amazing bursary of R 20 000. This bursary will help me a lot and is like a blessing to me cause I was praying for this the whole of 2017, because I completed my matric in 2016 and I couldn’t go to University due to financial constraints. So this bursary has changed my life, I’m now going to fulfil my dream of becoming a Psychologist. Thank you CAO for making my dream come true!!!

I’m really humbled, honestly, thank you for your support, it means everything to me. I’m speechless for your kindness. I promise that I will make you proud; you will not regret your effort or your support. This bursary will help me a lot as I’m here at University of Zululand, studying my first year in Bachelor of Science Foundation. It will make thing easier in my life.
My parents are not earning enough money to support me. I’m so grateful that you sponsored me with this bursary. I didn’t know where to get the money to buy books, to pay rent since I’m off campus and also to buy food. I really thank CAO a lot because it made me a person among others and brings up my future.
I truly appreciate the bursary and I’m willing to make my life better by utilising this time to learn as much as I can, and do my best on my education. I will use this bursary for tuition, books and other education expenses.

I would like to thank the CAO for winning this bursary to further my studies. It will assist me a lot since I did not have money to pay for my registration and accommodation.
This bursary will assist my grandmother to repay the money she borrowed for my registration and accommodation since she couldn’t afford it because she is a pensioner. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. I really appreciate it.
Winner of R10 000 CAO Bursary in 2018 entry
I matriculated from Durban Girls High in 2017 with the perseverance to follow my passion of accounting. It was a great honour to receive a place to study at the University of Kwazulu Natal after applying through the CAO. My mother is a single parent with the responsibility of paying for my tertiary fees. This bursary has helped to lift the burden slightly of my mother’s shoulders. Thanks to the CAO, I am now a first year student on the journey to being one of South Africa’s future chartered accountants.

“I am Durshen Govender. I am 18 years old. I finished
matric in 2013 at Greenbury Secondary. I am a proud
DUT student doing Food Technology, which is the
study of science behind food. Now that CAO has
helped me with my fees for the first year, it takes a lot
of pressure off my family to pay for my first year.
Financial aid is closed now because of so many
students needing money and if I worked part-time to
pay for studies myself, I wouldn’t have time to study.
Anyway, thank you CAO and keep up the good work
of helping the future leaders of South Africa to make
their dreams come true. To the rest of the students –

My name is Myolisi Gugwana and I had been struggling to get funds; my savings were not enough and I went to different institutions applying for entry. That is when I received a call from the CAO saying that they were offering me a bursary of R20 000. My dream of studying is fulfilled. I will grab it with both hands and look forward to working hard on my studies. I am so privileged and honoured for such an opportunity. I am studying at Berea Technical College towards a National Diploma in Human Resources Management. This is an opportunity of a lifetime to study and I thank God for answering my prayers. Tomorrow I want to be someone who has achieved dreams and set goals for a bright and successful future. I thank the CAO for the chance they gave to me to study. May God bless you.

Winner of the R10 000 CAO Bursary in 2016 Entry
I matriculated in 2014 and took a gap year to weigh my options. I always wanted to study at a university or college but I didn’t have the finances to do so. That’s when I applied through the CAO for the bursary. I was overjoyed that I could finally pursue my dreams, study Computer Technical Support through ICESA College, and not worry about finances.
I would like to thank CAO once again for the opportunity to study and follow my dreams in becoming an IT specialist.

Winner of the R12 000 CAO Bursary 2017 Entry
CAO has really helped me with this bursary because I don’t have to pay the full amount of my University fees. This bursary will open doors for me because I will be able to pay for other material that I need to complete school. It also encourages me to work even harder because it shows that hard work does pay off at the end of the day. I completed my application early in the year. I also communicated with CAO via email about details that I was not sure of and was given attention and assisted. I would really advise learners who are doing Grade 12 to apply using the CAO.
